Villas Picacho

Three villas on one hillside, rented alone or together as one compound.

On a hillside above the beach, just north of San José del Cabo, we design, build and run houses for the way people gather in Baja.

On three adjoining parcels along one road in Laguna Hills, the villas share a hillside, a gate and the view east over the Sea of Cortez, each with a courtyard and pool of its own. A family can take one house, a wedding can take all three, and the people who look after them are the same either way. Hover over the site to read each villa, or enlarge it.

Villa Ballena

Entered beneath an arch of vines and a curving celosía wall, Villa Ballena gathers around its courtyard, the largest of the three plans. The long great room, with the dining table at its centre, opens onto a pool and hot tub shaded by a pergola, with their own pool house beyond; a media room and a bunk room take the lower level, and three bedrooms upstairs each open onto a balcony. From December to April the whales pass below.

A day at the compound

Ownership comes with time in the houses. Here is one day of it, from first light to the last of the stars.

Eight moments from a week at Villas Picacho: a dawn surf at La Fortuna, the reef at Cabo Pulmo, lunch on the sand at Vera-Neo, dinner under the metal roof at Flora Farms, and the hours in between at the house that already stands on this hillside. Scroll, and the day passes.

First light on an East Cape beach, the sun low over the sea6:40am
Dawn · La Fortuna

The East Cape road runs north from the gate to a beach where the surf breaks on an empty shore, and at this hour the only tracks on the sand are the ones you make walking out.

Boards and a guide, arranged the night before
The balcony behind the celosía, cardón and mountains beyond8:30am
Morning · behind the celosía

Coffee on the balcony while the desert is still cool, the light arriving through the celosía as a pattern on the floor and the cardón throwing their long shadows down the hill.

The kitchen stocked before you land
Turquoise coves and rock on the East Cape coast, from the air10:00am
Cabo Pulmo · the reef

Up the coast, a panga carries you out over the living coral reef of Cabo Pulmo, inside a national marine park: turtles over the coral heads, schools of jacks turning as one, water so clear you count the stones on the bottom. From December to April the whales pass on the way.

A panga and a guide, arranged the day before
The terrace at Vera-Neo under white umbrellas, looking down the beach to the surf2:00pm
Lunch · Vera-Neo

Back down the hill to a table on the sand at Vera-Neo, where the fish on the plate was swimming that morning and the fishermen who caught it are still pulling their pangas up the beach.

A table facing the water, booked ahead
The pool and its loungers at Casa Correcaminos, from just above the roof4:30pm
Afternoon · the pool court

The afternoon belongs to the compound: three houses around one pool court, the loungers in the shade of the pergola, the children in the water and nobody in a hurry to be anywhere else.

Nothing to arrange
The sun gone behind the hills, the sky glowing pink over the ridge6:30pm
Sunset · behind the hills

The sun drops behind the Sierra at your back, and the show is in front of you: the whole sky over the sea turning pink, then violet, then gold, the water holding the colour a little longer than the sky.

Nothing to arrange
The Flora Farms restaurant at dusk, lit under the palms8:30pm
Dinner · Flora Farms

Fifteen minutes down the road, dinner at the long tables under the metal roof at Flora Farms, at the edge of the fields it is cooked from. Or a chef in the great room with the doors slid away and the night air for company.

Night · over the sea

Then quiet. From the roof terrace the stars come down to the horizon, more of them than you have seen in years, with nothing between you and them but the sound of the sea.

Why Baja California Sur

A destination the world already knows, on a coast that is still being built.

Los Cabos closed 2025 with 3.77 million visitors, the most in its history, arriving on direct flights from 42 international airports. The demand is established and broad, led by travellers from the United States and Canada who return year after year, and increasingly for a season rather than a week.

What remains scarce is a well-built house in the right place. Fifteen minutes east of San José del Cabo, the East Cape is where Los Cabos is growing: new infrastructure, new hotels, and gated communities like Laguna Hills, with the Sea of Cortez on one side and the Sierra de la Laguna on the other. Flora Farms is a short drive, as are the beaches and wedding venues of Puerto Los Cabos, and further up the coast, the surf at La Fortuna.

There is a tranquillity here that is hard to find north of the border: stars untouched by city lights, and whales passing offshore from December to April, watched from the terrace. It is the kind of place families return to, and the kind of place where a well-run house earns a premium.

Drawn, then built

What the renderings promise, Casa Correcaminos already keeps.

The villas are drawn by the team that drew Casa Correcaminos, and they will be built by the crews that built it, behind the same gate on the same hillside. Completed in 2026, with four bedrooms, Casa Correcaminos is available for rent now, and the villas will be run the same way.
