Laguna Hills
Completed 2026
The first Picacho house, on a hillside above the beach just north of San José del Cabo: a great room open to the desert on one side and the pool on the other, a roof terrace facing the sea, and a screen of concrete block that turns the hard light into pattern.
The house that came first
Set among the cardón on a hillside lot in Laguna Hills, with the Sea of Cortez below and the desert behind, Casa Correcaminos was designed to bring an extended family or a wedding party together under one deep roof. The great room runs straight through the house, its glass walls sliding away on both sides so that the pool court and the open desert become extensions of the living room, and for most of the year the room has no walls at all. Across the balconies, a celosía of perforated concrete block filters the hard desert sun into a pattern that travels over the floors through the day. The roadrunners that cross the drive each morning were on the property before the house, and gave it its name.
The bedrooms open onto patios of their own, and a stair climbs to the roof terrace, where the whales pass below from December to April. Rough stone walls and a steel door mark the entry; block walls and steel beams carry a cast concrete roof with solar on top. Built by Estudio Picacho with local craftsmen between April 2025 and January 2026, it is the house the villas are drawn from: the same plan, the same materials, the same handling of shade, already built once on this ground.
Walk through the house
Four bedrooms, a great room that opens to the pool, a roof for the sunset, a bunk room the kids fight over. Every villa at Picacho is drawn from this house. Click any photograph to see it large.

What comes next
Villas Picacho takes what this house proved and builds it three times over, on adjacent parcels a short walk down the road, for a small group of investors who also get to stay.
